I’m excited to share an opportunity that combines culture, creativity, and connection—a free five-week Flamenco course offered by the Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) as part of their new San Antonio chapter!
This course is designed specifically for military members, veterans, and their families in the San Antonio area. It’s a chance to learn a beautiful Spanish dance form, meet others who share your background, and become part of the vibrant San Antonio arts community.

What You Can Expect from the Flamenco Course
The course runs on Saturdays, starting March 7 and continuing on March 14, 21, April 4, and 11. (There’s a break on March 28.) Each session lasts 60 minutes, making it easy to fit into your weekend schedule.
You’ll be guided by two talented flamenco artists: Genevieve Obregón and Randy Cordero. Genevieve will teach simple steps and combinations, while sharing the rich history behind flamenco. Randy will provide live guitar and vocals, and together they will teach the iconic palmas—the rhythmic clapping that gives flamenco its heartbeat.
This workshop welcomes complete beginners. You don’t need any prior dance experience to join. Just wear comfortable clothes that let you move freely and get ready to shout “Ole!” as you learn.
Join the San Antonio Arts Community Through Flamenco
If you’re looking for a way to connect with others, learn a new skill, and be part of a welcoming community, this flamenco course is for you. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the energy and passion of flamenco while supporting the mission of ASAP and the veteran community in San Antonio.
Spaces are limited, so I encourage you to sign up soon. Whether you’re a veteran, active military, or family member, this course offers a warm welcome and a chance to be part of something special.
